SPRING/SUMMER 2011 TREND: THE TEE DRESS

I hate the word "trend". It is such a cliché word within the fashion world. But truth to be told, trends do happen in fashion. It is also necessary. It's the way designers tell us the direction that the industry takes every season.

Trend or not, I noticed t-shirts in different and innovative ways for the upcoming summer season. Tees are basically an easy way to upgrade our wardrobe - I know mine is full of them! - and being the t-shirt sucker than I am, I was beyond excited to see such a classic statement coming in interesting proposals.

CALVIN KLEIN
Simple, sensual and pure - Francisco Costa's purity connotations at the Calvin Klein show gave us this minimal, crisp white tee dress.

JIL SANDER
The perfect juxtaposition between the nonchalance of a white tee and the unspoken elegance of a couture bottom, Raf Simons did simple white tees attached to exquisite couture-y skirts.

MIU MIU
Quick stardom was the theme of the latest Miu Miu show and Miuccia Prada's way to show this was including bold stars on a pure tee dress. There's no need to go unnoticed when you are the star of the show!
